     2/1/08 - HeaterMeals introduced its newest product this week, HeaterMeals EX.  The HeaterMeals EX line is designed for extended storage.  In fact, it has the longest shelf-life of any HeaterMeals product: up to 5 years, based on the production date, when stored properly. 

     The food in HeaterMeals EX is fully cooked, and then is safety-sealed in a high barrier, flexible, 4-layer foil pouch that keeps air out during storage.  The entrees are then heated a second time under pressure to assure a safe, easy-to-store meal, with an EXtended Shelf-Life.

     The process is similar to that of canning, but instead of a metal can, the food in HeaterMeals EX is packed, cooked, heated and served in a more modern package.

     The result is extended storage without the need for refrigeration, and a ready-to-eat meal which retains its natural moisture, texture and taste.  When stored properly, HeaterMeals EX entrees are a simple solution for long-term emergency planning and feeding.

And HeaterMeals EX entrees are 50% larger than MREs, but contain 40-60% less sodium and fewer calories.  HeaterMeals EX are ideal for Emergency Preparedness, Pandemic Flu and Business Continuity Planning.
